Re: I made the impossible happen

Since Gastroparesis (literally "paralyzed stomach") is a complication with a full spread as I have, I was put on a grain and dairy free diet.  I absolutely cannot tolerate them and miss none of it.  Who wants total misery or a body weight that requires a TPN (IV Nutrition) or a tube feeding.

I prefer the diet.  I on occassion when the stomach acts up during a flare, will put a specific set of Essential oils on.  And it does help.  The modern meds, even as an RN?  Ugh, they have hideous side effects.  I prefer personally the diet.  I felt like a lot of those drugs caused some of my symptoms at least.

Like with any medication, though, tapering, etc is done under supervision.  When the GI specialist told me that "You don't need me anymore" I wanted to party.  I think their instruments are the problem.  And the "cures" they have?

But there are still things I live with day to day-the diet is expensive.  And I use organics, so it's complicated too.  I suppose my education comes in handy at those times!
