I have a stray mutt with large ears. Her name is Amber, some call her Amber Alert, The Amburgler, Ambergini, or Ber Ber. She is about 4 now. She loves to eat and sleep, but she also loves to run and hike too. Her energy always matches mine. Shes down to snuggle all day or go on a long hike in the mountains. I received a DNA test for Christmas one year to try out for fun, because I get so many suggestions on what she might be. Turns out shes 25% Lab (I believe it! she is hungry and lovable like one), 15% Boxer (which is where her coloring comes from), then it gets crazy: 6% staffy, 6% rhodesian ridgeback, 6% Dogue de bordeaux, 6% collie, 6% maltese, and 5% something else. After all that she still has 25% that's o mixed up they cant tell. She loves other people and most dogs, as long as they respect her personal space. Shes a great listener and very trainable. Shes great for a bath and a nail trim, YES! But don't let all this good talk make you think shes perfect, she has her flaws too. She has had some problems with diet, lets call it an eating disorder. She doesn't know when to quit! I opened up a brand new 15lb bag of dog food one day, she manged to open the closet door, open the container, and eat the whole thing. SHE WAS ONLY 33LBS AT THE TIME! I say at the time, because when I left for summer camp this year she stayed with my parents for 2.5  months. They free feed their dogs, and vowed to keep a close eye on her. They told me on the phone when I  called to check in that she may have snuck a bite or two. I come home to a 54lb whale! My dad now calls her Shamoo! One evening I ordered pizza, I set it on my HIGH-top kitche table which was flush against the wall. I pused the pizza all the way up against the wall with all the chairs pushed in, stepped outside to get something from my car, I come back and she ate the whole pizza- to this day I have NO CLUE how she managed to get it! She will eat anything too, lettuce, oranges, apples, lemons, banana peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, blueberries, jalapenos, and lets just say she thinks goose poop on the sidewalk is where people have dropped candy.
