I have finished the program and am now in practicum 2 so I have seen all of the courses. The technical writing course in the 4th semester, in my opinion, was the worse course of all of them (followed closely by or tied with psychology). I agree with you, it seems out of place and pointless. I had to force myself to continue with it.
I would really like to see the program offer a set of general ed classes you pick from. I can see the AVMA requirements dictating all the vet classes, that's cool. But English, psych, technical writing.... I'd rather pick something I half like.
