When a helping verb is used with the _______, the progressive form of the verb is created. A. past participle B. present tense C. verb "to be" D. present participle

I am confused with this question. I was positive that is "D" until I tried to confirm with other students the possibility to be wrong, because I don't want to fail my test. Both students agreed that is "C" but in the study guide says:

"Present Participle.” When the present

participle is used in conjunction with a helping verb, the

verb is called progressive. Progressive verbs show continuous action."

So; Who is wrong? I mean, or I don't fully understand what it says in the paragraph above these lines or they're right or I don't know I am very confused right now. Please help! I intend to take my test today 7/27th/2014

Thank you beforehand!
