I do them quite often. In fact I did four today! And as always found some crazy unexpected stuff! One of them had a huge tumor in the abdomen with so many adhesions around the intestines, I want even sure how it had lived as long as it did. Next one was a chronic renal failure cat that had horrible kidney values on blood work. Was euthanized and low and behold, she only had one kidney that was like three times normal size. Never found organs missing before, that was a new one. The other two were kittens brought in for dying unexpectedly. One had so many worms migrating through its entire body is was anemic. There were roundworms wrapped around the heart and both lungs, just every where! The next one had uterine and ovarian infection. Not common in a ten week old kitten at all! I'm a weirdo, but I love doing necropsies. I have never done one where I didn't l learn something or find something unusual. I highly recommend doing one if you get the chance. Anatomy is so much more interesting in real life!
