Great question and concern. As someone who has stretched ears and a septum piercing + working on her sleeves, there has never been an issue. It's all about your own work ethic and what sets you apart from the rest. It's also so common nowadays, and essentially, the more "traditional" image will be phased out in due time as the younger generations are very expressive and cultured in tattoo and piercings. It is also more common to see in larger city environments, the vet I go to has two full sleeves. I wouldn't worry so much anymore especially in the future. Besides, there's so many ways to cover up should you need to do so.
