If your saying you just signed up for your course and you haven't received anything, then it would depend on if they have hard copy study guides left for bookkeeping. I took bookkeeping a couple of years ago and as I recall it was all study guides, which they are now making the transition to all digital study guides which can be accessed and printed off right now and you can get to work on your "my courses" tab. If they are still shipping study guides it will depend on how far away you are from Scranton, PA. Books are shipped fourth class ground USPS, which is a space permitting on the truck proposition. If you live on the West Coast it could take awhile. It has been my experience it takes Penn Foster three days to prepare a shipment and then three days to get to me by mail and I am only in OH. If you want to get to work right away sign into your student account and click on my courses and access the online study guide for your first course. It is a .PDF file and you can print it off. If you don't have a printer at home you can raid the old piggy bank for change and head to your local library or Staples. My local library cost five cents a page to print. Your cost may vary.
If on the other hand you are wondering when you will receive your exam prep book and vouchers, you get them when you have completed the course and your bill is paid in full. You will also get your diploma and transcript, if any, at that time.
Just a heads up too, if you think you're wanting to start your bookkeeping career after this course I suggest you take the course on Quickbooks. Quickbooks is the gold standard on how small businesses actually keep their books. Although you have to know pencil and paper bookkeeping in order to get certified and pass pre-employment tests because that's the only way you actually learn the skill of bookkeeping, without knowledge of accounting software you will not get a job. Peachtree is the industry standard for large size firms, but I do not know if Penn Foster offers that course outside of their degree programs in accounting and business. Most companies that size want people with degrees anyway, but if you can't obtain Peachtree training from Penn Foster and want it, contact your local Peachtree vender and obtain a free trail disk and a copy of their advanced student manual.
