Re: Study guide teaching us the wrong thing about heartworm treatment. Thoughts?

Aspirin was used to help with vascular damage caused by passing segments of dead heartworms. It was also used in an effort to minimize post adulticidal pulmonary thromboembolism.

Standard of care has caused a change in a number of medical treatments over the years. So yes now the standard of care for heartworm treatment cases use steroids for this.

There are a few "old school" treatments and procedures that appear throughout this program. Sometimes it is an oversight when they release a new edition of the textbook, but some of these things will be required knowledge for externships or the VTNE.

Looking into Web Design

Hello everyone, I am looking into the Web Design course here, I was a systems admin while working for a tech company and I ran into an old friend and he was a applications developer. While in college I learned some basic programming with VB, C++, and Java. We are looking to open our own Tech company that provides Application Development, and Web Development and Management. My friend is strongly skilled in mobile applications and I am skilled in network management, I was wondering if this course would help us achieve our goal and get a little more experience with web design and development so I can assist him with some of the programming on big jobs or be able to hold my own on the smaller ones. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi Kelly. I think I might be able to help with 27-7. Note that there are two differing terms here: Dysphasia and Dysphagia. The case states that the patient had a "...history of previous cerebrovascular accident with resultant dysphagia." The resultant dysphagia is the sequela of the CVA, or the condition that followed the illness, so it would be coded as I69.391 Dysphagia following cerebral infarction. I hope this helps.

New to Vet Tech

*Waves*

I'm new to these parts. Starting in the vet tech field. Thought I'd drop in and give a hey ya'll.

A bit about myself. I'm an RVTA in a vet hospital currently, been there less than 3 yrs. Mostly dogs and cats, but we are starting to see some exotics.

I enjoy reading sci-fi and fantasy, particularly dragons! I also role play.

Would love any advice you care to share about the site or courses. Any helpful tips or hints you've learned are welcomed!

Re: Concentration

I cannot find my book!

Hello,

I am looking for my textbook, "Foundations of Early Childhood Education: Teaching Children in a Diverse Setting, Fifth Edition" which my Child Development Training course says I need. I completed the orientation except for the webinar and I would like to start on the course. I have not been able to find the book in my student portal and the course says, "online delivery. no shipping". Where can I find this book? Is it an ebook?

Thank you.
